Sharing with you my misery with addiction
My name is Robert and I am writing this in a hope to share with others that there is a chance at freedom from institutions, addiction and misery. I grew up in an alcoholic family always fighting and yelling. I went from alcohol to drugs to prison. I found friendship and support in recovering individuals in prison. What I didn’t know was there was another way at life I was released from prison and entered an alcohol rehab program. I met new people working at recovery and did what was suggested of me. The great staff at alcohol rehab encouraged me to get a sponsor, work the steps of addiction recovery, and try to get and job and begin living life sober. It worked. Today I have graduated from the program, and 8 months later have started my own business. It hasn’t been easy, but I haven’t used [drugs] or drank for nearly a year. A lot of prayers, reaching out for help, and shooting for the stars has made my dream possible. Shoot for your goals, reach out, and live in the moment. Life comes one day, one moment at a time. Alcohol treatment works, you just have to work it. taught me the tools, but it is up to me to do the footwork.

Selecting an alcohol rehab center is one of the most important difficult decisions you will make in your lifetime. Few of us know what to look for in an alcohol rehab program and not all alcohol rehab facilities are alike. Each rehab has its own program options, staff qualifications, credentials, cost, and effectiveness. Alcoholism is a life and death disease. The decision to send yourself, a loved one or an employee to rehab should be made with the same concern that you run your life, your family or your business. Ask the tough questions. Find out about the staff, the recovery rate, the programs, the level of personalized care and about the after-care programs. Asking appropriate questions when you call a drug rehab for information is important and you should expect to receive clear answers. Ask the tough questions now so you won’t regret not making them later. Entering rehab is all about getting help. Start getting help the moment you decide that a rehab is the solution. Use the tools you have – the web, the phone, other people in recovery. Start the process now. Someone’s life depends on it. Before you make any decisions-ask questions and get the facts!
